From meeting President Joe Biden to representing the international LL.M. students at the College of Law’s 2023 commencement ceremony, the English for Lawyers program prepared Ludmilla Evelin for a variety of unique opportunities she didn’t expect to experience. 

To teach students how the human body adapts to extreme high-altitude environments, Exercise Science professor Tom Brutsaert led a team with several Syracuse University students to the base of Mount Everest. 

Syracuse University Madrid professor Mónica Pérez-Bedmar has been named the recipient of the prestigious 2023 Peter A. Wollitzer Advocacy Award, recognizing her ability to challenge and inspire others to learn about and advocate for education abroad. 

Katherine Rodriguez Acosta ’24 MBA is a Fulbright Scholar at Syracuse University. As a native of Panama, Acosta describes the scholarship as “one of the greatest honors of my life” and every decision she makes is focused on the opportunity to contribute to her country’s development by applying what she is learning in the United States. 

The Center for International Services at Syracuse University hosts a signature program, the English Conversation Group, founded in 1987 to promote friendship and understanding between English-speaking group facilitators and international students, scholars and spouses.
