Applying for college as a first-generation student, Marceli Rocha-Rocha wasn’t sure attending a private university was an attainable goal. Growing up in a Mexican agricultural community in California’s Bay area, her family didn’t fully recognize the value of education—particularly for women. They didn’t understand why she’d want to leave her family and couldn’t support her financially.

Come usher in the holidays and celebrate being Orange in the Big Apple! The Office of Multicultural Advancement is partnering with the Office of Alumni Engagement and the Syracuse University Alumni Club of New York City to host a holiday party on Monday, December 9 at The Liberty, 29 35th Street, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Enjoy delicious food and drinks while catching up with Orange friends of all ages. The Office of Multicultural Advancement will then host an after party (at the same location) from 8:30 to10 p.m.

Let’s gather together, celebrate and find ways to support our communities. Looking forward to seeing you there. Register today!
