Rani Raad ’97 Named New IMI Chief Executive

Newhouse alumnus Rani Raad, the former president of CNN Commercial Worldwide, has been named CEO of Abu Dhabi based International Media Investments. Raad will succeed a Maxwell alumnus, Nart Bouran ’89, who was appointed to the role in March 2020.

Architecture alumna Christina Bahou was nominated for Women Leader in Business at the Middle East Women Leaders’ Summit & Awards 2023. The summit is a platform to celebrate the paradigm shift of new-age leadership while paving the way for the next generation of women leaders.

Members of the Syracuse University community gathered for a prayers for peace vigil sponsored by the Muslim Student Association. Altogether, the different faith traditions at Syracuse hosted several vigils for peace over different nights which were attended by members of each group in a show of solidarity of world peace and an end to conflict. These interfaith vigils demonstrated the Syracuse campus commitment to constructive dialogue.

Zain Elwakil released his short film “On Architectural Filmmaking” – an exploration into creative process as a filmmaker of space. Elwakil earned his Bachelor’s of Architecture Degree (B.Arch) from Syracuse University. He is the founder of Zuluecho Studio, an architectural photography and video production.
