Update from the Office of Research Integrity and Protections

The Office of Research Integrity and Protections (ORIP) is currently restructuring the existing Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training program (NSF focused). ORIP will be developing a campuswide program that will encourage all University researchers to be familiar with professional and ethical standards in academic research in general, as well as in their chosen fields. This program will offer various relevant trainings in all areas of RCR, will provide in-person and online trainings and will satisfy recent and upcoming changes to federal sponsor requirements for RCR training. More information about these training opportunities will be provided soon!

Libraries ORCID Drop-In Sessions

Dates: July 11, 1-3 p.m. and Aug. 9, 10 a.m.-noon
Mower Faculty Commons, 548C Bird Library

The Libraries’ Research Impact Team will be hosting ORCID drop-in sessions for anyone interested (faculty, staff, postdocs, grad students) in getting assistance with setting up and/or troubleshooting their ORCID profiles. This includes priorities such as connecting accounts to SciENcv, Experts@Syracuse or the Faculty Portfolio System; and helping build out people’s profiles and setting up automated import options for their publications. These connections are especially relevant to researchers with sponsored funding with the anticipation of government funding agencies, such as NSF, requiring or encouraging the use of a persistent identifier, like ORCID. Questions about these sessions can be sent to riteam@syr.edu.
