Ava Hu ’23 Finds a Second Home in Syracuse

Xiaoman “Ava” Hu ’23, a recipient of the Syracuse University Greater China Alumni Endowed Scholarship, never thought of attending college in the United States—but as she concludes her undergraduate career at Syracuse University, she’s grateful for the experience.

Organized by the Singapore Computer Society (SCS), in collaboration with SG Women in Tech and Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), Syracuse alumna Mui Hoon Poh is included in the 2023 Singapore 100 Women in Tech. The award recognizes and celebrates women based in Singapore who have been inspiring and have made significant contributions to the tech industry.

The Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs has pursued a series of joint ventures with the Academy of Public Administration (APA) since 2017 to further expand its presence in Central Asia.

Ingrid Erickson is in Bangalore, India investigating how culture shapes the development and demonstration of technical skill and the experiences of women tech entrepreneurs. 

Three undergraduate students from Cambodia are pursuing their educations at Syracuse University as scholarship recipients of SHE-CAN, a global organization that seeks to create opportunities for high-achieving young women from post-conflict and climate-challenged countries to succeed in positions of power and leadership.
