Inaugural Whitman Dean’s Challenge Awards $25,000 for Student Ventures in Sustainability

The inaugural Whitman School Dean’s Sustainable Development Goals Innovation Challenge was held this spring. Thirty-one teams participated in the semester-long initiative with eight finalists presenting and $25,000 in cash prizes awarded on April 18.

Panasci Competition Awards $40,000 to Aspiring Entrepreneurs

This year’s Panasci Business Plan Competition was held on April 5 with a total of $40,000 in prize money awarded to student teams from across campus who demonstrated the best potential for growth and attracting outside financing.

Students Use Hatchery to Prepare for NY Business Plan Competition

Five students working at Whitman’s Couri Hatchery Student Business Incubator made it through the regional level of the New York State Business Plan Competition. They will compete for up to $100,000 in cash prizes to support their ventures.

The University has set the dates for fall reunion and family weekends. Coming Back Together is set for Sept. 12-15, Family Weekend will be Sept. 27-29, and Orange Central will welcome alumni back to campus Nov. 1-3

Two alumni have been tapped to lead the Whitman School’s Defense Programs. Thomas Constable G’04, G’04 was promoted to succeed Irma Finocchiaro as program director following her retirement. Ltc. (ret) John G. Dean IV G’04 MBA, G’04 has assumed the role of associate director.
