Syracuse University Presents Models Based on a Qing Dynasty Map of Beijing

In the academic year 2020-2021, Syracuse Architecture offered in-person studios and related courses to students unable to return to Syracuse from China. In spring 2021, the students designed ‘The Complete Map of Capital Beijing’ a large-format diorama based on an original Qing Dynasty era map. Dezeen featured photos of the individual models in their School Shows.

When the 2020 Summer Olympics were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many were unsure if the Games would be held at all. Masa Takaya G’07 is the spokesperson for the Tokyo Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. He reflects on a year of uncertainty leading up to the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Ratna Khanduja ’16, a Native of New Delhi, Now Calls New York City Home

Ratna Khanduja triple majored in Management, Marketing and Supply Chain Management at Whitman. Today, she serves as a consultant in Deloitte’s Human Capital Transformation practice. After her work hours, Ratna hosts virtual dance classes for kids and works with an organization that connects college-bound students from low-income families with volunteer advisors and resources.

Falk Professor Discusses Impact of Olympics on Legacy of Sports Participation

Jamie Jeeyoon Kim, an Assistant Professor of Sport Management in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics, researches the legacy of sport participation from the Olympics. Prior to teaching, Kim worked for the Korean Olympic Committee, assisting Korea’s successful bid for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
