Funder Updates

Implementation Updates for the New NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy

As NIH works towards the Jan. 25, 2023, effective date of the new NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy, they continue to develop resources and implementation information to help the community prepare. To aid researchers in establishing robust DMS Plans, NIH released an optional DMS Plan format page that walks investigators through the Elements of a DMS Plan. A preview version of this format page is available now as a reference.

Register for the program.

Campus Research Approvals

Based on the current Syracuse University Fall 2022 Public Health Guidelines, the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and the Office of Research have determined researchers conducting face-to-face research are no longer required to submit a return to face-to-face research plan. In addition, approved plans are no longer required to be followed. All in-person interactions, including those with research participants, are required to follow current Syracuse University guidelines. If you will be updating procedures currently approved in your approved IRB protocol, please submit a completed IRB Amendment Request Form to ORIP@syr.edu to update your protocol.

Visiting Scholars Requests: Visiting scholars are those who are coming to the Syracuse University campus for the purpose of long-term academic research and scholarship, and who will remain on campus for longer than one week.
