Calling all 2026 Commencement Participants

Commencement rehearsal will be held on Thursday, May 7 at 12:00 p.m., in the JMA Wireless Dome.

All class of 2026 graduation candidates participating in the rehearsal should enter through Gate D.
Upon arrival at the Dome, students will be instructed to be seated in their home school or college section before rehearsing the student processional. 

Do not wear your regalia (cap, gown, tassel or hood) to the Commencement rehearsal. Regalia should only be worn at your school or college convocation and Commencement ceremonies. 

The first 350 graduates to arrive at Commencement rehearsal will receive a special gift!

File Your Diploma Request

If you haven’t done so already, complete and file your diploma request form online ASAP.

All graduation candidates who plan to complete their degree requirements by August 2026 and plan to participate in the May 2026 celebrations, must file a diploma request on MySlice. 

Accessibility Requests

Graduation candidates who have accessibility needs for themselves or their guests during Commencement should visit the Accessibility Information page on the Commencement site for more details about disability related accommodations that are available for Commencement attendees and participants.

All accessibility requests can be submitted online by completing the Disability Related Accommodation Request Form at the top of the Accessibility Information page. 

Are you registered for Commencement?

Make sure to register and indicate your intent to participate in the 2026 Commencement ceremony.

Reminder: Registration is for graduation candidates only. Parents, family, friends, and/or guests DO NOT need to complete the registration form. Registration information will be used to estimate total attendance for planning purposes. 

There is no limit to the number of guests you can bring. If your guest counts change, you DO NOT need to resubmit your registration. 

Registration is not required for participation in school and college convocations.

Caps, Gowns and Tassels 🎓

The Campus Store is the regalia resource center. 

All candidates who are eligible to participate in Commencement or convocations must secure a cap, gown and tassel to participate in Commencement weekend activities. This includes December 2025, May 2026 and August 2026 graduation candidates and students who petitioned their school or college to participate in Commencement weekend ceremonies. 

Beginning Wednesday, April 8 through Friday, April 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., undergraduate graduation candidates can visit the lower level of the Campus Store in the Schine Student Center to secure a cap, gown and tassel to participate in Commencement or convocations. Cap and gown distribution will continue through Commencement weekend in the Campus Store during regular business hours. *SUID will be required for regalia pickup. 

Master’s and doctoral caps, gowns and hoods are available to order online. Use the link below to secure your graduate regalia. The deadline to order regalia and ensure delivery before Commencement weekend is April 15. However, we recommend you order your regalia as early as possible and account for shipping time.

Syracuse University regalia distribution will begin April 8 and continue through May 10 in the lower level of the Campus Store at the Schine Student Center. Regalia is required to participate in ceremonies hosted throughout Commencement weekend, including all school/college convocations and Commencement.

Blessing of Students at Hendricks Chapel
To celebrate the graduating Class of 2026 and launch campus commencement activities, this event is free and open to all, including Syracuse University students, parents, alumni, and community members. The program will include musical performances, spoken reflections, and recognition of students.

Thursday, May 7, 12:00 p.m.
Commencement Rehearsal (students only). Enter the stadium through Gate D.

Commencement Brunch Reservations

Looking for a place to gather after commencement? Drumlins Country Club is offering a Mother’s Day and Commencement Brunch on Sunday, May 10, 2026 with seating from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Reservations are required.
