| | | | Greetings from the WAER News Department! As we move through 2022, we want to share several of the news issues our team will be focusing on in the coming months. | | | | | |
| - Interstate 81: Issues around ongoing development around the replacement of the elevated portion of I-81 through the city. Parts of that project should be starting this year – with numerous collateral impacts that our students and staff will be covering.
- Congressional elections: Along with the political divide in the country and how that affects our region, there are also new district lines that change pretty dramatically who will be running and what areas they’ll be representing.
- City Limits podcast project (4.0!): Will focus on How We Work, including such issues as local labor shortages, training opportunities, how remote work has changed workplaces, how the pandemic has impacted all manner of businesses and jobs, work-life balance and how that’s fairing in the present economy, and more. Expected launch is around March 1.
- Syracuse Speaks: Slated for late February, public affairs show will examine Transportation: Policy and Planning. A panel discussion will cover a number of initiatives in the works, such as bus rapid transit, high-speed rail, ways to get people to work efficiently to help them battle poverty, etc.
Thank you for your continued support of our reporting! Dr. Chris Bolt WAER News Director | | | | | |
