Syracuse Architecture Students Win Asian Design Awards

Students from the Syracuse University School of Architecture were selected for 23 best design project awards in this year’s 22nd annual Asian Design Awards.

David M. Van Slyke, dean of the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, met with alumni, partners and dignitaries in India during a recent visit that celebrated the school’s centennial and its 70-plus-year partnership with the country.

Born in China and now living in New York City, Han Zhang ’24 (WSM/NEW) has distinguished herself at Syracuse University by pursuing a triple major in finance, business analytics and advertising, with honors. 

Kazuma Nagao, an aerospace engineering major at Tokai University, seized the opportunity to study overseas at the English Language Institute (ELI) at Syracuse University. Nagao credits the ELI with giving him not only improved English skills, but also strong friendships and brought him into contact with NASA astronauts.

Syracuse students from the Department of Nutrition and Food Studies in the Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics were able to witness Chef Madhu Gadia’s enthusiasm firsthand and benefit from her teaching lessons as she was the featured speaker for the Joan Christy Lecture Series on Food and Culture.
