Alumnus Establishes Fund to Help Bandier Students’ Travel to Asia

A new endowed fund established by Grant E. Palmer ’13 will help Bandier Program students pay for costs related to an annual immersion trip to emerging markets across the globe. This year’s Bandier immersion trip took students to southeast Asia, where they had about 40 meetings with industry leaders and professionals.

Rising junior Nadia Lyngdoh-Sommer, is one of the three Maxwell students in the current 2022–24 Lender Center for Social Justice Fellowship Project. A native of Singapore, Nadia is concerned about the legal rights associated with AI surveillance.

Recent mechanical engineering and applied mathematics graduate Ruohan Xu has received the Norma Slepecky Undergraduate Prize for his research activities. Xu is currently serving as president of the Chinese Union Syracuse.

Eternally proud of his South Asian heritage, Anish Shroff readily admits a sense of pride when he looks around the sportscasting landscape and sees a plethora of talented South Asian broadcasters working for national media outlets. Shroff is the only minority radio play-by-play voice of a National Football League team but noted that it is a trend that seems to be shifting.
