Syracuse Celebrates AAPI Heritage Month

Syracuse University hosted the annual Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month celebrations honoring the histories, cultural diversity, identities and contributions of AAPI communities. Events across campus were held throughout the month of April.

Syracuse University students Chenhao Luo ’23 and Angelina Yihan Zhang ’23 have been selected for Metropolis Magazine’s Future100, an award that recognizes the top 100 graduating students in North America.

Hsa Mu Na had a lack of education while living in Burma (also known as Myanmar). Now a United States citizen, he is pursuing a liberal arts associate’s degree through the College of Professional Studies. 

Francis Tang came to Syracuse University from China in 2019 to study political science and international relations at the Maxwell School. He recently received the David R. Schweisberg Scholarship, covering membership to the press club and travel and living expenses for internships at news organizations’ foreign bureaus.
