Middle East Policy Council 2023  40 Under 40 Awardees Includes Lana A. Yaghi Esq. L’14

Lebanese-American by background Lana Yaghi is a senior attorney at the law firm of Miller Canfield, who splits her time between Washington D.C. and Doha as the co-Resident Director of the firm’s Qatar office. Lana is included in the #MEPC40Under40 of 2023! 

MENAT Student Ambassadors from Dubai welcomed the admitted early decision applicants and their parents from the UAE while on their winter break. They also met with the regular decision applicants for the Fall 2023 at the SU Dubai office.

Yasmin Nayrouz is a junior, studying public relations in the Newhouse School and English in the College of Arts and Sciences. With an Egyptian family background already orienting her toward the Middle East, she watched the Syrian refugee crisis unfold and decided to work toward a career in policy advocacy for refugees and displaced families.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. recently hired two bankers for its asset management business in the Middle East. One of them is Whitman alumnus Mohammed Al Bunyan who will oversee institutional clients for the bank’s asset management in the Kingdom. Mohammed is an active member of the SU Alumni Chapter in Saudi Arabia.

Civil engineering alumna Boushra Barakat was recently appointed as the new Managing Director for the Dubai-based membership non-profit association, The Clean Energy Business Council. She joined at a key point in the CEBC’s growth in the MENA region.
