Office of Research Social

The Office of Research will host a social on Friday, Nov. 15, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in Lyman Hall, first floor lobby. Colleagues working on research and creative activities are invited to take a break and enjoy light hors d’oeuvres and a selection of beer, wine and soft drinks.

A Quality Research Environment Produces Quality Research

In this session, the Office of Research will explore the aspects of a healthy research environment that impacts research quality and promotes research integrity. Topics include the importance of a culture of anti-harassment and anti-discrimination, research incentives and competition, collaborations and the importance of diversity in research.

RECR (Responsible and Ethical Conduct or Research) Planning: Compliance Aspects of Collaborations, Conflicts of Interest and Research Security

For this session, the Office of Research will explore topics related to research collaborations and the relationship between creative research and compliance.

National Science Foundation (NSF) Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) Information Session
Wednesday, Nov. 20 | 3 to 4 p.m. | Bird Library, Hillyer Room 606
Please join the Office of Research for an information session about the NSF CAREER program. Pre-tenure tenure track faculty engaged in research on topics supported by NSF are invited to attend. This session will provide an overview of the CAREER program requirements, help you decide if the CAREER program is right for you and guide you on the best time to apply.

These awards are intended to enrich the research and professional growth of young faculty in one of the following five areas: engineering and applied science; life sciences; mathematics/computer sciences; physical sciences; or policy, management or education.

This program is structured to strengthen relationships between University members and ORAU collaborators by focusing on research and education topics that align well with ORAU’s expertise and current priorities. An ORAU collaborator will be assigned to the principal investigator for each award.

2024 Empire State Development (ESD) Green CHIPS Community Investment Fund – Internal Call for Concepts

These awards are intended to amplify the benefits of Micron’s investment in Central New York. Syracuse University may apply for funding to expand the workforce pipeline.

W. M. Keck Foundation Science and Engineering Research Program December 2025 Research Grants

Inspiring Generations of New Innovators to Impact Technologies in Energy 2025 (IGNIITE 2025)
This program is designed to support a new cohort of early-career innovators to develop the most disruptive and unconventional ideas into transformative new technologies across the full spectrum of energy applications.

National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Digital Humanities Advancement Grant

NIH Reminder

Upcoming Changes to the Peer Review Framework
NIH is implementing a simplified framework for the peer review of the majority of competing research project grant applications, beginning with submissions due Jan. 25, 2025. NIH will continue to update its website with guidance for applicants on the new framework. Learn more about this new process.
