Former Orange Student-Athlete Akane Hosoyamada ’15 Pursues Her Olympic Dream

Akane Hosoyamada ’15 competed for Team Japan in her second trip to the Olympics. The exercise science alumna and former Syracuse Orange student-athlete first competed in the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games. Read Akane’s story.

Kaicheng Zhuang is an architecture major at the Syracuse University’s School of Architecture. He is one of the two recipients of the Greater China Alumni Endowed Scholarship for the academic year 2021-22. 

After earning her master’s degree, Tianyue Zhao ’13 M.S. returned to China, where she worked for several mutual fund companies, gaining experience in equity research, auditing, fixed income and asset management. Almost a decade later, Zhao was hired as an assistant teaching professor in finance at her alma mater.

Before attending the iSchool, Shloak Gupta ’20 studied engineering in India. Deciding to attend graduate school often comes with the pressure. But for Gupta, attending the iSchool’s Data Science graduate program allowed him to explore the different realms within data science and discover what roles appeal most to him.
