Syracuse University Again Named a Top Producer of Fulbright US Students

Ten students from Syracuse University were selected for Fulbright research, study and teaching awards for academic year 2022-23 to Austria, Colombia, Germany, Morocco, North Macedonia, Poland, Spain (two awards), United Kingdom and Uzbekistan.

In 2011, when Zuleika Rivera came to Syracuse from Puerto Rico for her undergraduate studies, she planned to pursue political science as a step toward the law career and social justice work she’d long envisioned, and she also hoped to learn more about the history of her native island. She had no idea that it was possible to combine all these interests at Syracuse University.

Syracuse University students currently studying in Madrid, Spain made their way onto the local news during their first week in Spain, while participating in the Syracuse Madrid Marine Ecology Signature Seminar.

Evan Wichman ’12 has taught in Ecuador, China, and Queens, NY, and has felt the restorative nature of music in every classroom: “I really like seeing the imagination and energy of children. I loved feeling that energy.”
