Professor Zhen Ma Researches What Drugs Cause Birth Defects

Zhen Ma was appointed as an assistant professor of engineering at Syracuse University in 2016. He set up his own lab which has attracted prestigious grants from the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health to develop a platform and system for testing how various drugs might affect a developing human embryo. 

Embarking on a journey far from his home in India, Gokul Beeda ’21 chose to study at Syracuse after learning that the bachelor of industrial design curriculum includes a fifth year during which students engage in a yearlong independent thesis project. Read more information on Gokul’s designs.

A team of School of Architecture students have been working on a master plan to transform a street scape in the future city of Xiong’an New Area in China’s Hebei province.
