Faculty Research and Creative Excellence Celebration

The Office of Research will host a celebration for faculty who have received research and creative excellence awards on Monday, April 27, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Miron Victory Court. Colleagues are invited to take a break and enjoy light hors d’oeuvres and a selection of beer, wine and soft drinks.

Sign Up: Faculty Feedback Sessions

The Office of Research is seeking faculty input on Research Development and the Office of Sponsored Program’s pre-award and proposal support services through a series of feedback sessions the week of May 4–7 in the Faculty Commons at Bird Library. These small-group conversations will directly inform how we improve the support available to researchers pursuing external funding. We want to hear from you! Please sign up to participate.

Connect, Discover, Celebrate: Research Social and Postdoctoral Scholar Showcase
Friday, May 15 | 4-5:30 p.m. | Lyman main lobby and 132 Lyman Hall

Colleagues working on research and creative activities are invited to take a break and enjoy light hors d’oeuvres and a selection of beer, wine and soft drinks. Postdoctoral researchers from across campus will present their work in a poster session during the event.

This program provides funding for innovative science in both basic and clinical neuroscience and is designed to support creative, exploratory, cutting-edge research in well-established research laboratories, under the direction of established investigators.

This program welcomes proposals that address AI and cybersecurity education and workforce development.

W. M. Keck Foundation Research Program – June 2027 Grant Cycle

Number of Internal Nominees: 2 (1 per grant area)
This program seeks to benefit humanity by supporting basic science research projects that are distinctive and novel in their approach, question the prevailing paradigm or have the potential to break open new territory in their field.

Internal Funding Opportunities

Good to Great Grant (G2G) Program
This program supports faculty efforts to resubmit or prepare revised proposal submissions to NIH, NSF or other funders for proposals that previously scored favorably but were unfunded.
Deadline: Friday, May 15

Team Building for Large, Collaborative Grants
These awards, intended for researchers with a track record of securing sponsored funding, aim to facilitate the development of collaborative research teams and support planning activities that enable the submission of a competitive research proposal to an external sponsor.
Deadline: Rolling

Faculty Bridge Funding Program
This program allows a minimal level of activity while a proven principal investigator awaits expected federal funding, e.g., to prevent loss of key postdoctoral researchers, research faculty/staff or senior graduate students or loss of research materials in the interim period.
Deadline: Rolling 

 

External Funding Opportunities

National Endowment for the Humanities Curriculum Development: Western Civilization
These grants strengthen the teaching and study of the humanities at institutions of higher education by developing or enhancing programs, resources or courses that explore, interpret and preserve the diversity of human cultures, ideas and practices, past and present.
Deadline: Thursday, June 25

NIH Research on Chatbots and their Usage
This topic encourages multidisciplinary research that identifies, measures and explains the benefits and harms associated with chatbot use across a variety of populations, use cases and settings.
Deadline: Thursday, April 15, 2027

Reminders

  • The Research.gov tool referred to in the DMSP section of the NSF PAPPG Supplement 2 Policy Notice will be released on Monday, April 27. Proposals submitted before that date should continue preparing the DSMP as a PDF upload.

  • Researchers can use the Core Facilities webpage to browse the University’s collection of shared research infrastructure. Complete a brief survey to provide feedback that will guide future expansion and ensure the cores meet evolving research needs across campus.
