A Syracuse Evening in Tokyo

A delegation from Syracuse University spent time in South Korea as one of a continuing series of steps to strengthen academic and cultural collaborations with multiple Korean universities and with Syracuse’s alumni community.

When Xiaoying Feng ’20 M.S., ’26 Ph.D came from China to earn a master’s degree in marketing from the Whitman School in 2019, she had two plans: to travel and see the United States and then return to work in marketing for a medical device company. 

Nimisha Thakur G’24 is one of 22 U.S. scholars to receive the fellowship to support her doctoral research in India. Newcombe Fellowship supports promising scholars completing dissertations examining ethics and religion in interesting, original or significant ways.

The Maymester study abroad program allows students to explore the diverse South Korean environment. The course taught how social issues and design shaped the country’s landscapes and structures.
