Syracuse University Celebrates the Year of the Snake

Syracuse University students, faculty, and staff celebrated the Chinese New Year—also known as Lunar New Year or the Spring Festival—across the campus as they bid farewell to the Year of the Dragon and usher in the Year of the Snake.

Joey Gawrysiak, executive director of the esports degree program, and Arnold Hur, CEO of Gen.G, solidify a multi-year partnership designed to enhance student engagement opportunities and support SU’s first-of-its-kind esports program. 

David M. Van Slyke, dean of the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, visited the Republic of Korea as part of the Maxwell School’s centennial celebration and to foster more collaborations with higher education leaders. 

Professor Jing Lei, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and an expert on instructional design and information and communication technology, traveled across China to discuss the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on teaching and teacher development, a topic of her recent research. 

Yoonseok Lee, professor of economics and Melvin A. Eggers Economics Faculty Scholar, has been named vice president of the Korea-America Economic Association, an important platform for research and the exchange of ideas among Korean and American economists.
