Syracuse Hosts Three Virtual Networking Events for MENAT Alumni and Current Students

In early November, Generation Orange members led alumni from the Middle East, N. Africa, and Turkey in a virtual celebration of the sesquicentennial of their alma mater. Syracuse University’s Muslim Chaplain Amir Duric works with his colleagues at Hendrick’s Chapel and the Office of Diversity of Inclusion to expand services and programs for Muslim students. From educational programs, to prayer spaces, to dining options, the growing Islamic community on campus is finding new ways to build community. The 22-year old Syracuse architecture student grew up in New York City and was raised in an Arab household. The family visited their home in Egypt each summer and Zain spent his entire high school years overseas, attending an international school in Qatar, to connect with his heritage.
