Dear Graduating Student, Congratulations on your upcoming graduation from Syracuse University. You have worked hard to reach this milestone. We are looking forward to honoring you during Commencement weekend and welcoming your families and loved ones to campus. I am writing to provide you with some important details to assist with your planning: - The University’s Commencement ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 11, at 9:30 a.m. in the JMA Wireless Dome.
- The ceremony will include a keynote address and the presentation of honorary degrees. Chancellor Kent Syverud and I will be part of this celebration, along with Syracuse University faculty members and Trustees.
- You should also plan to attend your school or college’s convocation ceremony, where you and your fellow graduation candidates will be individually recognized. Your dean leads this ceremony and, in some cases, presents awards and honors to students.
- A reception will be held either before or immediately after your convocation ceremony, providing you and your guests with an opportunity to meet with your fellow graduates and the faculty and staff who have been important to you during your time at Syracuse.
- Complete information about Commencement weekend, including the full schedule of ceremonies and receptions, information about parking and getting to campus and student registration, is available at commencement.syracuse.edu.
- If you haven’t already, we recommend downloading the OrangeNow app, available from the App Store and Google Play, for easy access to Commencement weekend information and notifications.
If you have any questions regarding Commencement weekend, please contact the Office of Major Events at sucommencement@syr.edu or 315.443.2016.
